Yes I am. I got my air manometer today, still waiting on my air flow meter and the extra thermal sensors I ordered. After reading more of different testing it seems fairly critical that you scatter a bunch of air sensors all around the intake. I get a good 1C difference just between the two sensors I have on my computer. I'll probably do something like once sensor for every fan and make it modular so I can just string them together depending on what radiator I'm testing.

I always thought they were just a BIP and BIX clone. does it look like they have a better radius on the inlet and outlet? That might be why they are flowing a little better instead of any other internal changes...I'm curious if they will cool as well, or better, or worse...All the rad rep's will be mad at you pretty soon,I'd rather see real world results from people then a controlled enviroment test thats totally alien to what we'll be using them in...+/- a C or so is close enough for most of us, we can make up more then that with tweaks anyway...

If i get my probes just a little to far to the center or outer edges of the air flow I'll get a little different temp's to,mine only vary around a half a C, I use those cheap tape probes thats probably the difference....That Crystal Fontz will pay for itself now with all your probes on it...Looks like fun...

The only obvious thing I see is the tubes appear to be really well flared. Funny I saw one of those "How it's made" shows the other day and they wer making car radiators. After they put on the end caps that solder all the tubes in the end, they have this special tool that looks like a wheel with spikes in it that they roll back and forth over the tubing ends to open them up. These were opened up more than many others I've seen, so that probably has a big impact in helping flow rate.

I like that show, I guess I missed that episode...That would have to help the flow for sure...I guess we'll find out if it helps cooling any soon...I bet its a real fine balance in a WC'ing rad between restriction and flow and heat dissipation, this is such miniature stuff any little thing can throw it off..Then we have to tune our rigs block and pump and rad together, if it wasn't so much fun it would be a pain in the neck....

It's all the variables, details, and complexity that's got me hooked.

Heck I bought a new game 3 months ago and only played in once, I guess I'm just sick, I have more fun figuring out how things work and perform than I do using the computer.

Thats really all I use my comp and cooling gear for is a toy, something to tear about and put back together and hopefully knock off another 1/4C or so...Thats bad when you work on something all day and are so happy to get a minuscule temp reduction, so small it may be more wishful thinking then real gain......But hey its something I can sit around the house and play with...

More tinkering tools...

Walked into the garage this evening with several radiators in hand and came back out with this. I wanted some sort of radiator stand that would be convenient to use for testing, with this I can mount the sensors into the stand permanently and not have to fuss with anything else except hooking up the fans on the radiator and connecting the tubes.

Air in = 2each sensor x 120mm fan
Air out = 1each sensor x 120mm fan
Water in = 1each sensor
Water out = 1each sensor

For a total for 14 sensors, I figured I would put the crystalfontz to work with it's 32 channels of available sensors. I don't have an environmental chamber, so I figured the more air in sensors the better.
