Questions on mobo

Hi, I just won a PCPartner RD580AKM-AA1D motherboard at a lan. I don't need it as I have an evga 680i in my rig, an abit IP35-E in my HTPC and I don't care enough about my server to upgrade it, so I thought I would build a cheap PC for my father in law who has the same computer he bought in the early 90s.

But I really don't know much about AMD or this chipset. So my first question is, does anyone know anything about this board and how well it overclocks?? I haven't found much on the internet about it. It supports crossfire and seems decent considering it was free. My biggest concern though, is what CPU would you guys recommend for it?? I would like to be somewhere around $50, but more is fine if it would be worth it. I basically just need something cheap but still powerful, I am thinking the equivalent of intel's 21xx series. I will probably put a slight OC on it, and I have some cooler sitting around here somewhere, so OEM is fine.

Thanks for any help, my first AMD build

I would go for this:

($89.99) AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Brisbane 2.6GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Black Edition Processor

A little more than $50, but it's probably the best low price processor from AMD. Decent overclocker as well. Got to get a heatsink for it though.

Thanks for the reply. You know, I see everyone on here with AMD CPUs seem to have that one, so I was kinda guessing that would be the recommendation!! I just don't know if I can spring for that though, we are pretty broke ourselves, I would like the overall build to be around $200. What is the difference with that CPU versus something like this?? They seem to have the same cache size, just a slightly lower clock speed. I was just reading the reviews on some of them, is the big difference that the black edition has an unlocked multi?? I thought all AMD CPUs did

Hm. I guess I have something to think about now. I didn't plan to do much of an OC on it, since it isn't my system and will not be doing anything to intensive ever. Decisions decisions
