Assassin's Creed - Frequent Crashes

Thread Starter
Crashes 5 mins into the game. Every time. I'm not running an OC on my cards and have shaved a lot of my CPU to try and fix this, but nothing.

I'm thinking either the 174.74 beta drivers, or just a shotty game. Seems I can lower (and I mean LOWER) the settings and get a longer stay out of it, but I'm convinced it will still crash.

Any one else having these issues?

I just got this game

So far... Wow!

I also had crashes (2) during the tutorial.

I took the OC off of the CPU and the GPU's and now it is smooth. I will try again with only the GPU's OC'd to see what happens.

Sidenote: What an interesting start.... I had no idea that the story was going to be presented in the manner that it was.

it looks like I had to lower cpu OC a bit (3.6-3.1) to get it to run for more than 10 mins. I'm dissappointed w/ the experiance so far, hopefully I can fine-tune it tomorrow and not have to readjust clocks every time I wanna play (3.6 was 12 hours orthos stable and stable for months until now, it would appear)

Do NOT use rivatuner. Use Ntune to overclock your vid card and you should be fine. It is NOT your overclock, it's a compatibility/game bug
