I wished to update my nvidia forceware, so I:

- Uninstalled nvidia drivers via control panel. When prompted to reboot, I chose "no".

- Then, I used Driver Cleaner.NET (version 3.2.1) to uninstall everything else. When prompted to reboot, I chose "yes".

After rebooting, I have no picture on my screen. It will show the BIOS splash - it will even show the Windows loading bar - but once it enters Vista I get a black screen.

My theory is that Driver Cleaner.NET deleted critical files required to complete the normal nvidia uninstall so it became corrupted and fudged everything up.

Anywho, right now I'm on my spare video card (ATI) and am wondering if there is a way to fix this problem without having to back up my files and reformat. Whenever I try to boot with the 8800GTS I can't see anything past the Windows Vista loading screen.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Edit: Dunno what the heck got corrupted, but I installed new drivers while in safe mode and it seems to have solved the issue. From now on I'm only using Driver Cleaner Pro, not Driver Cleaner.NET . Although tbh, I think they're the same thing? o_o
