You obviously did the pencil mod wrong.

I noticed improvements .021334 seconds after doing it.

Well that was a nice way to say it.

I'm talking with ericoed through private messages right now, and as it turns out, I was thinking it was going to fix the vdroop like where I select 1.35v in the BIOS, but it ends up being 1.32v instead.

But I ran Orthos for a minute or so with Hardware Monitor and CPU-Z open (one, and then the other), and the voltage didn't move at all, so I'm assuming that it's working absolutely perfectly.

good stuff. The pencil mod is incredible, I couldn't hit 3.4 stable for sh** After the mod, I can get 3.6 Ghz @ 1.48v on my Q6600. It was a 10 second fix and worked brilliantly.

I have a .02 vdroop instead of a .10 + v vdroop. I want to try it again, but it seems like how much more I shade it in, i can only get it to .02 v between idle/load lol

Please excuse me for forgetting that you told me that in another thread. I'm only human (btw, I want to be honest and say that I think it was unnecessary for you to say that. It made me feel like you were cutting me down somehow, or ... I don't know. It just felt rude).

Anyway, now I think I'm gonna try heading on my way to 4.0GHz again.

Thanks for all of your help in the past too. It's all appreciated.

Good luck with your OC, I could only get to 3.7GHz, 411x9 at 1.325v (1.264v after vdroop in Windows). I could probably get the FSB up just a bit more and maybe get a 3.75GHz clock, but I'll worry about that later. This is all after talking with ericoed in PM as well...I guess everyone goes to him for help

I know. But it always confuses me as to why people do that. It always rubs me the wrong way. So, it wasn't you specifically.

He came to me, which was the coolest part.

As for your vdroop, I feel so lucky that I can mod it on this board now that you've mentioned it.

Wow, I did the vdroop mod, and it works perfectly. The voltages don't drop at all under a stress test (nor do they increase). This is awesome.

3.9GHz and climbing.

I'm I can really see the benefit of a stable voltage when 100% load is introduced.

Wow. And to think: all it costs me was a few seconds of my time.

Yeah, I know... it's incredible... stable voltage really helps. I still have .02v droop, so I still have a bit of work ahead of me.. tsk tsk, maybe i'll solder it if I get the nerve to..
