additive questions/advice.

hey, the time has come for me to change the water in my liquid cooling loop.

i was thinking of having it some different colour, I hear this can be done by squeezing highlighters and diluting the 'juice' with distilled water, which i plan to get from the chemistry department at college

my questions are:

1) do i need to add biocide? Its £3 ($5) but it is really necessary? i hear algae can build up inside the loop if not.

2) should i get conducting or non-conducting coolant? what's the difference (apart from the obvious)? and which is better?

3) what about corrosion blocker?

4) word on the street (and by street i mean those made-up streets we have here at OCN) is that the feser stuff is really good value. http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/cata...roducts_id=439.
is it worth it?

thanks.

just get the feser stuff and be done with it. its the best performing coolant you will find, and includes all additives you need.

thanks, think i will. don't want to spend too much because i hope to get a real watercooling setup soon.

you should be able to reuse that coolant.
just make sure to rinse the reserator with some distilled water first to make sure none of the old coolant is left there to dillute the Feser.

thanks, i will do.

i ordered my feser one orange cooling fluid, it will be here Monday.

seeing as how its UV reactive i might get a UV cold cathode light for my case...

the uv light wont be wasted because im planning to get a job and get some good 1/2'' hose and a decent radiator for my loop

also, is there such a thing as UV reactive metal paint? i was thinking of giving the inside a good paint job and this might be an idea...
