P5N-E SLI help

Hi guy's, Ive been overclocking my board today. Ive set my FSB to 1337 because it would not post with 1333 no matter what voltage I used. 1337 strap worked straight away with Vcore set to 1.4v. I tested for 30mins with OCCT and passed. I then tested with prime95 for 6hrs and passed. But when I shut down and try restart it wont post. Is there anything I can finetune? I have bios v0608 and I have spread spectrum disabled. I have it set to unlinked. All other voltages are set to auto. I tried 1.42v but still noting. Ive moved to the next nbcc strap so Im on 1341 now with 1.4v. I havn't tried restarting yet as I wanted to ask you first if anything else can be fine tuned first.

Listen up, sorry to break it to you but the p5n-e is horrible at overclocking quad cores.
There are like only 3 people on this site that have gotten a quad to 3ghz. Its just crap when it comes to overclocking.

Trust me if you want to overclock it then you need a new baord.

OK but I thought this was supposed to be a good board for overclocking. Obviously not with core2quad then. Its a shame as Ive really been looking forward to this I got my watercooling system just to overclock this baby . I would also expect a lot more than 3Ghz too as I think the CPU could easily handle more. So what board do you recommend for the quad core CPU then please?

Yes its pretty good for overclocking dual cores, but sadly not quads. I feel you man.... i have the same board. Whats your price range?
Also with a good board and watercooling you can overclock the quad nice and far.

Once you tell me your price range i can suggest more, but for now.

If you are not planning on sli

then this board will be good for you and its at a great price.

Hi Redfox911, I'm not rich or anything but when it comes to my PC I'll pay what it takes once its worth the money. The best board for my quad and the best board for future upgrades if you can suggest one and the price wont matter I'll just save for it. I'm gona have a look at them other boards you suggested now. I'm only really interested in the sli boards as I might go sli at some stage. Thanks Redfox.

I agree with Redfox911, I owned this board with a Q6600 B3 (which btw I use as a monster Media centre now) and couldn't get stable past 3.1Ghz on it, no matter how high I put the voltage, just hit a wall and nothing. Note that the sli on this board as well only works at x8 due to the second pcie being x8. Have fun and good luck with whatever you do
