GO with SLI those cards are dirt cheap now and your FPS will climb
He has a G80, not a G92. His FPS is right in line with his card and OC.

Honestly I would sell your GTS 640mb and upgrade to either an 8800GTS G92 or 9800GTX. Even the 8800GT would be quite a jump.

The 8800GT is the best bang for buck, with the 8800GTS G92 following in a close second, but I picked the 9800GTX because it has a "9" in front so that means it is better.

Actually I picked it because they seem to OC better, but some 8800GTS G92 owners debate this regardless of the numbers floating around.

definitely either 8800GT or GTS(G92). my GT plays Crysis w/ modded config for Very High at 1680x1050 at 25-30 FPS. at 1440x900, it gets ~40

"Modded" config files dont count as a good "benchmark" defaults settings have to be used

I would stay with your 640 and get another for SLI. If you plan to keep the GPU for awhile, then sell your 640 and get a G92 8800GTS, get another G92 GTS later on.

Dude I'm getting a 9800GTX.

At 299.00 at the egg you can't go wrong with the vanilla eVGA 9800GTX. (i'll be getting one as well -- waiting for my tax return... damnit)

It has an excellent price point and you can use the step-up program. Sell your card and you'll spend even less.

Go for it
