[EXP]9800gx2 Sentenced to Death in June - Page 2

I hope they release something soon, 9800GX2 in SLI is a complete failure. I'm holding out for a little while longer in case it's driver related, most reviewers have detailed the various problems already.

-extremely high overhead (a quad core at 4.6GHZ was still bottlenecking performance)
-Performance gets worse with overclocking (related to first point)
-Random stuttering, and not smooth in gameplay
-Erratic FPS (very high at some points, but also lower than 8xxx series in others)

This is exactly the same as 7950GX2, I'm willing to bet that these issues won't get fixed, especially not with the new architecture on the horizon.

The last two aren't problems with the 9800GX2, they're problems with SLI.

I kind of wish GPU manufacturers were on a set time table, like release new cards only once a year. Get better code optimization and larger leaps in advancement instead of these BS bunny hops that are all priced too damn high.

Actually I change my mind...

The fact that NVIDIA are being so blunt/lazy in trying to release a true mammoth GPUs really shows how enthusiastic they are Lets be real people, the gx2 was a real disappointment.

Dear NVIDIA...

here is one suggestion...sack your programmers they all suck!!!. After 2 YEARs of trying to perfect the drivers they are still calling it beta and have yet to perfect the drivers. Either they have some really thick programmers at NVIDIA or they don't give a damn of how the game performs.

Which begs the question how the hell do the drivers pass Quality check?
