Oblivion is more open. It isn't always clear about what you should do next. Good thing for some and bad for others.

My vote goes to the Witcher. I just love the games style.

Edit: Why do so many people say you don't controll the fighting in the witcher? I feel like I'm in control. I would say killing bosses or taking on a gang of powerful mobs at the sametime without getting hit means there has to be some controll of the fighting. With the Witcher it doesn't come natural. It's something you have to learn and abapt to.

Don't even get many started on the many neat weapon combos you can make for those who like to explore all the game has to offer. Or you can skip meele and go with signs and bombs. For me the replay value for this game has been through the roof. I got it a month after it was release and it is only second to COD4 for time spent playing.

However, I am not saying Oblivion is bad by any means. Either way you are going to get a good game. I'd personally recommend beating one and then grabbing the other.

To make a better recommedation let us know what you are looking for in a RPG game like this. The witcher and oblivion, although they happen to be in the same genre are very different types of games. I'm sure you could tell that by most people here liking one and not the other.

I played titan quest and oblivion. I vote for oblivion! The main quest is pretty epic even though it's a bit predictable... but oblivion is not about the main quest! It's all about the dark brotherhood!
The assasination quests are awesome!

I didn't really like any of these games, but Oblivion was the best out of them.
