Pretty sure he's seen the tables, and as he stated he doesn't really understand what they mean.

Yeah, you're probably right, but I can't really get much else while I've got these SLI'd GTX's.

Well I am like you, but before you take the sand paper to it, run a very straight edged implement like a knife or the edge of scissor blade across the IHS to check whether it is concave or convex. Someone else may have other ideas on checking the flatness of the IHS. If you dont see light between the edge of the implement and the IHS then it is pretty flat. I guess another way is to press the IHS onto some ink pad then press it onto a paper sitting on glass surface surface. If the ink leaves no blank spots then it is pretty flat, otherwise you can lap it if you want.

But then again you may have a hot chip. I am currently priming a Q6600 at Stock 2.4GHz and the temps are currently 51,47,51,47. Ambient today is about 22C. It is clunking thru the 16K computation using 1.200v.

1.212 Vid here....

3.6 / 400x9 OC

oh and some may not know but the 680i has a fsb hole somewhere between
3.33 ~ 3.5 ghz cpu frequency
Mine wouldnt post, it would say switch to default cpu and mem settings.
After i pushed it to 3.6 it was golden.

oh and i only require 1.35vcore.

so yah usually the lower the vid the better the oc and less temps and less vcore is required.
This is just what i have noticed....
yea i got a 1.225 VID and i only need about 1.35V for 3.6GHz

1.35/6 is too hot i was getting 70 and higher. so i guess ima just leave it at 3.2 oh well.
