Just a question about TRUE 120

Recently I lapped my TRUE 120 extreme, I dont have camera with me right now so Im just going to show you guys what it looks like after taking off the heatsink from the mobo.


isnt the thermal past supposed to spread all over the heatsink surface?

it's supposed to spread across the surface of the IHS.... which usually has a smaller surface area than the heatsink's base... also it generally doesn't spread over the whole base...

If you want to make sure your lapping was done properly, put the CPU on a soft cushiony surface and press the base of the HSF down onto the IHS of the CPU (relatively hard).... lift it up quickly.... if both surfaces were lapped well, the IHS and HSF base will create a temporary vacuum and the CPU will lift up temporarily
