external drives and raid

Thread Starter
hi all. just somthing that has been bothering me.

i have two sata II dives . and im not in raid.
one drive has all my games and os the other my music work and other stuff.
a while back i acidently booted up with raid enabled and it wiped my spare drive and mirrord my c drive onto it.
since then i have built up all my data again on the spare drive. phew

now my question. if i buy a external drive and put all my music and work on it.
then raid my other internal drives. (never done raid yet so not sure what type yet)
when i plug the external drive in.. will my pc try adding it to the raid or will it just leave it alone and let me keep my stuff

Once the Raid is set, the only way to change it is in Post with the Controllers config...
So the external will be left alone.
what drives are you going to raid?
