Appraisal: eVGA 680i A1, eVGA 8800GTX

Thread Starter
I'm pretty sure my mobo, the 680i A1, has gone and died on me. I plan on RMAing it soon, but I think I want to try a new board - this is the only one I've used. What could I get for a new board, fresh from RMA with all the peripherals?

Secondly, as I don't play Crysis anymore and I don't really care about benchmarking, and I probably will get an Intel board, I no longer need my second 8800GTX. Its been kept cool on my WC system and can clock to at least 660/990. Additionally, it has an EK waterblock on it that I would hope to sell with it. The block retails for about $110 and is in perfect condition. What is this likely to sell for? (If someone's interested, I could be persuaded to sell both GTX's. )

Thanks.

The GTX and block are worth at least $350. If you're getting an Intel board, go for a P35, the X38 is only for people who need CF.

I might go to Crossfire eventually, but probably not for a while, so that's probably a good idea.

Thanks, but what about the board? (I'm more interested in that).

You can't CrossFire NVidia cards >_> (Just wanted to make sure you knew)
Just about any P35 board will do great, but I advise staying away from the versions that have both DDR2 and DDR3.

Now, now, give me a little credit. I'm selling the second GTX for this very reason.

And thanks for the tip on the DDR2/3 boards.

I was thinking maybe $150... Is this too high or too low?

let me know when you're selling the board (after your rma), I've been looking for a good 680i/780i board for a while. I really want SLI lol. I wonder if I could even RMA it for you
