And if I raise the voltage? How far can I do that with a stock fan (albeit a decent Sapphire one)?

Bump.. so would it make any sense to raise the voltage to get more out of it?

Card's been overheating lately so i turned clocks down a bit. 831/850 from latest auto-tune in Overdrive. Previous was 842/844.

850/860 made it run at 90 degrees. A little bit too hot probably? I think anything below 90 seems to be fine.

I want to set a temperature limit.. but I know this thing gets really really hot so I don't know what is a reasonable amount to set it at.

I am running on air with an antec 900 case.

Have you cranked the fan speed up yet?
Do you have a single or double slot cooler?

< 80°c is always my goal.

The card takes up two slots. Exhaust only takes one though, but the whole thing is definitely a two-slotter.

According to rivatuner fan control, the fan is at 31%.

edit: have set it to 43% of duty cycle... loud, but temps are down. What should I set it to ideally?

ps
Read your thread on in-game temps. Very helpful. I give you rep every time I visit this site

TY

I ran my Pro fan ~48%, kept the temps well within my comfort zone.
I believe ATI Tool allows for dynamic control of your fan.

The card runs hot even on default voltage settings. Maybe you could get away with 1.25 on the stock heatsink, but anything higher and you would need some good aftermarket cooling. 900MHz seems to be the max on these older chips, and that's with +1.25V running.
