can anyone help me get to 400mhz on my memory?

Ive been reading alot of info about ddr2 memory timing and Im just about as confused as can be. I need a cut and dry kinda answer.
is the memory Mhz I have right now acceptable. People have said put it on a divider but ive been reading and this is the "old way" to do it.
basically with what I have here what would you do to get it back to stock Mhz and keep the 3GHz cpu OC

In your BIOS setup, unlink the FSB and RAM frequency. Then set the freq. to 400 MHz manually or set it to auto.

no do not set it to 400mhz..
i say leave it like that... if you put it on 400 you are going to downgrade the ram...
right now is a little overclocked to 860mhz

It depends on how he wants to OC - tight timings at stock or loose timings with a higher freq.

ya and Im not sure which way I want to overclock. I think more tend to lean at lower MHz tighter timing right?

I'm a little confused what you want, your memory is overclocked right now and has great timings for that speed, so as long as it's stable why do you want to change it? Your memory is running at 429MHz, or DDR2 858. 4-4-4-15-23-2T are good timings for that speed.

okay durch. thanks. If thats a good OC then Ill leave it at that. and ya it seems to be stable at that. I have memory set at 2.1v right now. and OCZ's site says this memory is good to 2.2v but I would rather leave it in the "normal" spec range to be safer.

what I wanted before was how to get my memory back to a 400mhz freq. but if thats not important for any more overclocking then nvmd. but theoretically I could get tighter latency with a 400mhz right?

You look good with the speed/timings you have.
Depending on the ICs and voltage, you may even find higher speeds at those timings. Tight timings above the default speed is good
My Crosshair was able to run 4-4-4-12 up to about 1080 with a 2t just fine with GSKill HZs at 2.175v.
