Recommend Me a New HDD(s) - Page 2

I'm in the exact same boat. I'm looking to buy a new HDD and All I do is game with the highest settings I can possibly reach, much like the OP.

We should start a poll as to what would be most beneficial right now I'm thinking of either 2x Raptors or 2-3x Barracuda 7200.11s but I'm not sure what the benefits of raid vs a standalone are.

gaming....you will have faster access time from Raptor.
I game but I am happy with my 500GB. besides benchmarking it is really hard to tell the difference.

It depend s on budget and your favourite brand, the 500gig drives are getting pretty fast nowdays, and prices are good too, check out 2 seagate or WD 500's in a raid0.
If you worried about the power outages, get a baby UPS, so you can shut down your pc after the power dies...
