i have a small cabinet, and i am wanting to mod it to hold my 360 and also have the top be a stand for my 19" tv (soon to upgrade) but anyway, more to come soon. the original door is what i plan to use for scrap wood if i need to. i'm also going to have to strip off the lamenal (or how ever you spell it) siding and paint the plywood underneath, never really painted something before so, i'll need some tips and instructions. i'm going to use the original handle and brackets to make the door swivel. the dimensions of this are: height= 31 1/2in width= 12in and depth= 11 3/4 in. Thanks for looking! more to come later this week.

Stealthed hardware is cool.

Speaking of cool, do you have plans for ventilation?

Some laminates can be difficult to remove cleanly, some simply fall away if you look at them. I guess the point is that care may need to be taken in order to refrain from tearing the wood up underneath.

<edit> Looks like that is particle-board?

When you paint, you may want to consider a clearcoat top-layer to give it some Shine... unless matte is what you are after.

i am painfully using a putty knife to scrap off the glued on siding, it's kind of like wallpaper. then i need to find a good way to remove glue really easily (the laminate was only on 6 small strips). i then have to do a light sanding to smooth things down, once i get completely to the bare plywood. i cant decide whether to make a fan hole on the top or side. i also have to cut the back part out for cables/ airflow. then i'm going to paint it black, add some height to it by making a bottom shelf and then painting the rest black. and finished. i'll have a 4 day weekend off school to be able to do this. i have to drill some holes in the small door, attach handle, i can tell i'm going to be tired after this.
