2900XT Bios Flash Question

Thread Starter
I have 2 HD2900XT's running in crossfire in my rig. Both are 1GB GDDR4 versions, but made by different manufacturers. One is clocked at stock with a 3d voltage of 1.2v, the other is factory overclocked but with a 3d voltage of 1.15v. Is it safe to dump the bios off the 1.2v card, and flash it onto the 1.15v card so they both have same bios and 1.2v? Or is the different manufacturer thing going to make this unwise? Thanks in advance.

Well I'm guessing by your voltage and clocks on the second card that it's a Diamond (mine are too), but I would say it's okay.....it should have the same VRMs on it.....as well as the same GPU.....
I have mine at 1.35V on water for 940 MHz 24/7. 950 is 3dmark stable, but I get VPU recovers every so often while gaming.

You guessed right, the second one is a diamond. So you think it will be safe to flash the diamond with the bios from the other one (stock clocked)?

And what temps do you get with that gpu and volt overclock under water cooling? Had to ditch my water cooling when I got 2nd HD2900 as my old water block wasn't crossfire compatible - but going to go back to it once I have a spare £120 to drop on the new waterblocks.

With my OC and voltage I get 28-32C idle (depending on ambients...usually 20-21C ambient) and 40-50C load (again depending on ambients and which game)
I have the VRMs sinked with aluminum VRM sinks as well as copper Swiftech RAMsinks......make sure to get the copper sinks for the VRMs AND the Pulse chips.....OMG the digital PWMs get hoooooooot
I have two 120mm fans pointed directly at the VRMs: One at the front of both of the cards with the airflow parallel to them, one below the second card perpendicular to the second card.
I also have a 120mm fan blowing across the PCIE1 card, my NB, and my memory.
My auzentech prelude has a pretty tight fit with the RAMsinks....I had to dremel off one of the columns to fit with one of the Prelude's capacitor's

Here's a pic:

Alright, did it a different (and easier) way in the end - just edited the bios to put in a higher voltage
