Thanks heaps for all your support!!!

sweet radio you got there man

going back looking through here i didnt realize how young you are, im 18 and would have no were near the guts to undertake something this big, awesome job so far. cant wait to see the finished product.
Haha, yeah... i have that old girl going while i work. Im only 17 and the task tends to get a bit hard at times and as a student i dont have tons of money to poor into the project so that to makes it harder at times.

Quote:
Get some non LED fans please the more clean it is the more mature the build will look. Go go gadget builder
In the front pannel where the massive rectangle cut-out is, it will have the mesh on it as well and i have 3 120mm non led fans that will be screwed onto the mesh on the inside. If i ever get a water cooling set up i can bolt the rad onto this. I kept that in mind in my plans. Thats why the window stops a few inches from the front so it would be hidden and allows an area for cable to run without being seen.

i like the way it looks. it look really good. any reason you didnt use just plain sheet metal instead of the alum??
I wanted the case to be fairly big but i didnt want the case to weight a tone for when i take it to lans so aluminium being reasonable light seemed the best choice. I am also wanting to pollish it or give it a brush look (dont really know what the brush look is... assuming that i use a rough sand paper and sand in only one direction?). Im leaning towards a mirror polish finish.

Thanks again for all your support.

More progess to report!!!

Got my 3 120mm fans secured to the front and put the side pannel on. It is all basically complete. Couple of 80mm fans to add yet and i have to do a little bit of work around the back of the mobo tray that it is the all mighty task of sanding and polishing this wopping big beast.

Heres the pics....

Still need some advice on the process of getting a mirror finish...

Enjoy.

What CFM are those CM fans? I have the CM Stacker fans and they are very slow running fans.

Ummm not sure... but i think they are about 51-52CFM but they run super quiet and super slow. I will get better ones eventually. The main idea was to bring fresh air into the case and let the hot air travel out the back. The build up of pressure will force the hot air out anyway. As long as i have a steady flow of fresh cool air comming in and a place for the hot air to excape (80mm fan and GPU the temperature within the case SHOULD stay reasonably good.

Moving along nicely, I see.

If you want to know more about attaining a mirror finish, then I would hit up Ice-Owl.

His current project, Liquid Ice, has many parts and pieces that have been polished to high lustre.

Little bit more to report. Progress is slow now because i am back at work. So i only get 20 - 45 minutes in each day before it gets to dark up at the shed.

Fixed up the gap at the back of the mobo tray. The pictures dont do it justice. They make it look really cappy so yeah...
