7600gt 256 vs 2600xt 512

Ok so I got a really good deal on this 2600xt but I think my 7600gt is better I loaded up all the new drivers on the 2600xt last night. Started up WOW and got fps of like 20-30 with my 7600gt I get in the 40-60 most of the time with everything maxed. Now atitool is crashing and when I do get into it it says the 2600xt is only running at 169 core and 179 mem. So if thats the cause then something has to be wrong. I also get black screens of death and when it comes back it says my vga had an error this is with all the new drivers off Amds website. Anyways I'm thinking of going back and buying a 9600gt and just being done with it for a bit. Any ideas would be great or if this card just sucks let me know.

its a good card, but not too much of an upgrade over your 7600gt. i've seen some crazy deals for 9600gt, so if you could afford it, i would certainly recommend the card. by the way, did you uninstall the nvidia drivers before you put in the ati drivers? that could be the cause of your issues.
