8800 Ultra Overclock Question

I have two EVGA 8800 Ultras in SLI, but one of them came as a Superclocked edition. Correct me if I'm wrong, but these two are the same cards, just one pre-overclocked. I finally decided to flash the 8800 Ultra SC bios to the regular Ultra so as to even out their clocks and it worked fine.

Now they're both clocked at:
Core: 655
Memory: 1125
Shader: 1665

But now when I play Crysis, I get lines that flash quickly on the screen as I'm playing, mostly when the screen is displaying vegetation. I guess this would be artifacting. But when I bring them down to normal Ultra clocks, it doesn't do it.

So what I'm wondering is why? I'm pretty sure my other card can take the SC overclocks, so I'm hoping it's not just the cause of the card. They both idle between 62C and 65C normally, but I haven't tested to see the temps. under load yet. What is the max temp. for an Ultra? I've heard different things.

I'm thinking it may have something to do with the driver. I'm using 174.74 drivers on Vista 64. I've tried going back to 169.44, but the game would crash everytime I loaded a save.

Any knowledge on this would be appreciated, thanks.

It's probably your overclock. Especially with ambients like that.

I have installations of XP Pro and Vista 32, so I guess I'll have to fire those up and see if I get the same result.

Also, what are the best options for third party cooling for the Ultra besides liquid? Do you think that reapplying the original heatsink/fan with new/better thermal paste will help?
