They do suggest the Corsair RAM that I gave a Link to and maybe your non success with the DFI board could have been this SuperTalent RAM if you had tried to use (I am guessing here).
Anyway try to Unlink and then check the memory tab on CPUz to see if the DRAM Frequency is slower.
Also some of those posts I listed talk about the Command Rate at 1T, so there you go, you can do it.
Also they (Poster=Persian) talk about this Board not being Q6600 friendly and I don't know if your Bios Version 1205 will help (The post # listed some noise about problems with Q6600)

not a mobo for quads....
some dividers on Asus don't let you do that...That's why i use the crucials...
if you want to OC a quad on ASUS you have 3 choices, ASUS P5K-E, Premium or Mine, ASUS P5K deluxe
