New cheap rig.

Thread Starter
I'm looking to build a new rig. The objective is to get as much bang-per-buck as possible.

I'm looking at a low end Intel or AMD processor overclocked as much as a tuniq 120 will let me go.

I will be using 4GB of ram and winxp x64.

I will be be crossfiring a pair of cards, possible a pair of x1950 pro (i may be acquiring them cheaply) or failing that, I'm open to recommendations.

I already have HDD, case, PSU and monitor.

The advice I need is what CPU, motherboard, ram and possible graphics card to get.

Thanks for any help.
Mia

Newegg has my RAM on special for $100 and that is almost the same price and leaves room to upgrade and will overclock just as high or higher. I would also go with what they said except maybe a 8800gt instead of the 9600. If you look you can get a 8800gt for 160 too.

Hard to recommend a graphics card without knowing what kind of power supply you've got.

I made a thread about copping an e2180 and people have told me that lately those chips haven't been overclocking well...

So hope that you get a good chip if you go with that
