GeIL Chip Question????

Thread Starter
I have 4x1GB of GeIL Ultra PC2-6400 RAM. I've seen that they either have SpecTek-3 or Powerchip/Micron D9 chips. How can I tell which chips my RAM actually have?

Sorry, this was an uber-stoopid question. I figured it out. Thank you. I'm going to get rid of these GeIL RAM.

Anyone have any ideas on some good 1066 RAM to replace it with?

These 2x2GB G.SKill PC2 8000's are very likely to hit 1066 speeds. At $90 and free shipping, you really can't beat it.

You can check this list with you complete product code (like GX22GB6400UDCA):
http://ramlist.ath.cx/ddr2

If it still lists 2 different chips, there is no way else than disassembling the cooler....

Ok, another dumb question, how do I disassemble the coolers without damaging the RAM?

Never mind. I figured it out. I pryed them off a little bit and they both say SuperT on the chips.

Not sure what those are, but at least now I know.
