shared network problems!!

Thread Starter
I've recently set up a shared folder through my wireless network. The laptop's shared folder shows up on the desktop, however, the main desktop is not showing up on my laptop!?
AND the printer connected to my desktop is not on my laptop either!!
Why?!
Can someone PLEASE give me step by step directions on how I could fix this?

1st of all u have to have the network under the same name e.g. mshome on laptop and mshome on desktop ,that will be ur network name it can be any name, only then can your PCs can read each other
to do that go to control panal >network connections>create a home or ofice network on the left tab

First of all, are they both xp? From what ive found, vista comps tend to not see or use networks set up by xp comps real well. You could try using the one with vista to set up the network if one has vista.
