Circuit City tried to tell me I didn't know what I was buying...and all it was, was speaker wire. -____________-

Hmm, every time I go in they are extremely knowledgable. I guess our CC does good business, although being across the street (directly) from BB has to hurt some.
Most people I know only go to BB for music and movies, if they actually want some customer service they go to CC. Plus, our CC has a much better return and service policy- if it breaks you aren't just up a creek without a paddle.

I will never set foot into a circuit city ever again after the way they screwed me on a surround sound system. I ordered it on their website, it arrived, I spent the two hours to wire this thing up right with all my other AV equipment, then the subwoofer doesn't work. When I shook the cord it crackled in such a way that said loose solder on the connector. I called up CC and they said take it to the store for repair. I take in the sub and they say that I have two options, either bring the whole thing back and they will ship me a new one asap or I could send the sub off for repair and wait about two weeks for it. Well I didn't feel like doing that wiring job two more times so I sent it for repair. Well CC has no tracking, they told me I had to call in every week and see if it was there, well a month and a half later it was there. I ruched right down to pick it up, I went to the desk and the clerk looked up my claim number. She said "that'll be $11.95.", I said "No it won't, nobody told me anything about any charges when I brought it in and I brought it in one day after receiving it so it damn sure better be covered under warranty.". She called her manager (it was after hours) and talked with him for a long time. Eventually she got off the phone and said "Ok, since it wasn't fixed" "It's not fixed?!", "No sir, and since it wasn't my manger says will will waive the fees and we have two options, you can bring the whole thing in and we'll ship you a new one or you can pay $39.95 and see if our repair shop can fix it". I was livid on the inside but remained calm. I told her I wqould be back the next day to speak with a manager as I was too upset to continue this now. I went home a wrote a very detailed email to CC corperate. Then I put off going to the store for a few days cause I wasn't in the mood to deal with the BS yet. Well a couple days later the sub showed up at my door. They had shipped it to me since I hadn't picked it up. I opened it and iy worked!! I was singing CC's praises for two weeks after that thinking that the letter to corperate had gotten things done. Well a couple weeks later I got an email from corperate, it was a late response to my original email. They had the balls to tell me that CC was no longer responsible for the sub as it was now over 30 days since purchase! They told me I had to contact sony for warranty claims. I was beyond livid! Not only was it pure coincidence that the sub was fixed, they had the nerve to tell me it was over 30 days and they couldn't help me when it was THEIR repair center that had it for over 30 days!!! I wrote them back an extremely detailed email with all the details and how they had just lost a customer for life and anyone else I could tell the story to. We have no BestBuy in my small town, CC and Walmart are it for electronics (well, sears doesn't count, lol). I hope CC dies a painful death.

I don't know what's scarier, 1 store with 2 different policies or the fact that they have my freaking CC information on file.
Most retail stores have your CC info on file. Go into any store that you recently bought something from, by CC, and say you want to look up the receipt number for rebates, or something. They will be able to pull that info up faster then you can say, dude.

Its not just CCity that does this, Best Buy, Target, Home Depot, and many more.

The only info that they keep on file, is what you bought and when you bought it. If it was a CCity Credit Card then they would have your address and other junk with that.

I'm not pro CCity, I think they suck. I just don't like it when people have the wrong info about stuff.
