Hey now LOL. I'm part of that 35+ crowd (not that Circuit City is cool by any standards). One closed up near me 4 years ago and got me my 66 inch DLP for 52% off so I'll give them that much.

Remember most kick-ass systems on here are from the older crowd who actually have the jobs and cash to build them. That and I paid my dues on 386's, Pentiums that divided by zero, and spending upwards of $400 for a 166mhz and 32 megs of RAM and being the bomb.

Its not just CCity that does this, Best Buy, Target, Home Depot, and many more.

The only info that they keep on file, is what you bought and when you bought it. If it was a CCity Credit Card then they would have your address and other junk with that.

I'm not pro CCity, I think they suck. I just don't like it when people have the wrong info about stuff.

Yeah thats true.. also i think it only shows the last 4 of the cc in the computer..

When i worked at blockbuster back in highschool/college you could see everything.. even after you entered the info and saved it in the database..

I didn't know The City stores stored CC info.. Circuit City stores receipts by the name/ phone/ street address/ zip back many years. I haven't been to a City store yet (the new version) but I hear they are all redesigned. Every time the stock falls I cry on the inside a little... lol.

ugh. i hate circuit city, just this last black friday, the lines were so long b/c they still use MSDOS at their registers. and they didn't assign which line was which ( for just credit cards or cash), it was pure horror. not being racist, but there were ALOT of foreign people who don't speak any english and basically flip you off with one dirty look when they shove by you. i love bestbuy, it just has kind of a warm blue color to it, that sucks you in.

The system they use isn't really any slower than the new system CC has... It was unfortunately the cashier =\\

Black Friday is quite an event... If you never have worked @ a retail store there are many people in a hurry that don't bother to read signs and even the item description and sometime the price.. , differentiating lines would have prolly gotten nowhere =\\

It is great having the sales girl leave some kid and come help you isn't it? I know I love it.

Honestly though I quit visiting CC when they fired all the people who knew anything to hire cheaper labor.

I think my IBM PC Jr had a 16 MHz chip and like a 20 Meg Hard drive. Thats right no booting from floppies for me.

They closed 70, kinda like how CompUSA closed a bunch before they sold out to Tigerdirect. There are like four in Columbus I believe two are closed or able to be.

Personally Circuit City feels outdated and useless to me. Everytime I go in there I can't find anything, everything is priced at CompUSA prices, and the employees are dealing with idiots asking which TV is the bestest.
