Crysis has no atmosphere and is too open ended to be 'pretty'. It doesnt really immerse a player into the game, like A.C. . There will be alot of support for Crysis regardless of that simply because A.C. is a console port and no PC gamer could ever take a re hash for PC as their premiere game.

Crysis is a technical achievement, yes. It allows all of us to experience what games will be like in the not too distant future. Gratz to CryTek for that, they have shown that they have the technical means to create a masterpiece. Unfortunately for them, they dont have the creativity (or just simply chose not) to create an involving storyline. It sacrificed oppurtunities to create moments in the story (ie. in game cutscenes), to create a free form world. This is where Crysis falls flat on its ass in my books. Its more like a tech demo.

A.C. is set not only in a juxtaposed world (see altair) but also a slightly less surreal world (see desmond). It makes us play a game about a person practically playing a game them selfs. A.C. is rife with quick time events and in game cutscenes that, whilst taking control away from a player, allows them to see the world from their characters eyes. This will generally invoke a emotional response from a player. Interaction with other characters is another big + that A.C. has on crysis (in crysis you barely see friendly characters that serve a role in the game).

Consider the two games to be made into movies filmed with cameras, where the 'look' of the game is as real is its going to be....Which one do you think will be more beautiful?

What i want to see, is a remake of A.C. with Crysis's engine. :O

great input guys. For me, its just that I play crysis on 1680 x 1050 on very high, dx10, and then i play assassin's creed on highest settings, and i think assassin's creed feels more like im really there.

BUT, but... AC runs smoother on my comp. Then again, I'm only DX-9 right now.
DX10 does run better than DX9, with DX9 I have to overclock my SLi GTX's to the max to get a similar framerate to when im playing it in vista with stock GTX clocks.

Plus the visuals are pretty amazing in dx10, gameplay is better than crysis, even though a bit repetitive, personally.......I think AC even looks better than crysis.
