Appraisal: Two sets of RAM

Thread Starter
First up are the OCZ DDR2 PC2-5400 Gold GX XTC 2x512mb. I never overclocked them, so no clue about that, but I wouldn't expect much.

Second are the Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-6400 2x1gb. I received these dead and am waiting on my RMA now.

Any ideas?

I wouldn't pay more than $30 for the 2 x 512MB and I think that's giving quite a bit. The Crucial's are pretty good and still retail for $60.99 on Newegg right now. So anything under that would be fine. The price should go back up in about a week though.

Given the rebate Newegg gives on the Crucials... even those won't fetch you too much.

If you find someone who wants to avoid the rebate hassle, you might get $40... otherwise, $35 is the limit (shipped!).

Relatively speaking, you're gonna get more for the OCZ....

given that info, I'd say $25 shipped is fair.

That's brutal seeing the cheapest shipping I can find is like roughly $11-$12.

Crud.... didn't realize you're in Canada.

Hold on...

In Canada....
http://www.directcanada.com/products...L%20TECHNOLOGY

Thus, you should get something like $60 (shipped) quite easily. Just forget about the US crowd... it's just too cheap here right now.

Even the OCZ kit goes for a decent price:
http://www.directcanada.com/products...anufacture=OCZ

$40 - $50 shipped in Canada probably.

It depends a bit on demand... but that's what I would try to sell it for in Canada. Again, US prices are very low right now, so don't expect to sell it to someone in the US... you'd have to rely on your fellow Canucks
