Xbox360 or Playstation3? - Page 6

Bit of a strange analagy coming but bear with me:

Imagine it like this. Vista is the newest OS and all the new games will play on it but it wont play games that were released when XP was out.

Now. Would you buy a year old PC that has pretty good hardware but remember, that hardware is 1 year out of date and will be come obsolete.
The game catalogue is huge.
This PC will cost you about £150-£200.

Or. Would you buy a brand new PC that has the top of that range hardware out dated by a few months but has the most powerful processor in it that will take a while to become obsolete. The game catalogue is fairly big but will get even bigger this year. This PC will cost you £250-£300

The first PC is the 360. The games are good but the hardware is older than the newer one.

The second PC is the PS3. The games are just as good as the older one but its hardware is newer and will last longer + it is the development for all console games (well 360 and PS3) Games are ported from the PS3 to the 360

If you can afford a PS3 then you would be stupid to get a 360. Unless you want the 360 only games like halo then get a PS3.

Just remember whats been in the news lately. Developers are struggling to get the games on DVD's (GTA4) so they have to be compressed more.
BR has alot of space so textures can be uncompressed meaning higher quality and leaving this format with a long lifetime

Also, in a game to year ratio the PS3 has more games. The PS3 has ~341 game and the 360 has ~466 games

Well I figure on a couple of things:

1.) I hate Jgames (Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, Anime in general...)

2.) I hate to say it but the only hardware advantage of the PS3 over the 360 is the Blu-Ray and as some people have said, it'll be fun to watch a PS3 try to render 50GB of textures at the same time. It just seems bloated to me

3.) Most people I know have a 360 so I guess it comes down to local popularity...that and XBL seems more prominent
