Ok, get right on it man!

I've recently been able to start clocking my E6600, sitting pretty at 3.2Ghz at the moment, 8 hours stable in Orthos.

The FP-IN9... That's a 650i right? As best i can recall, that board was sat in the "Best Mid-Range Motherboard" category in CustomPC for about a year! You shouldn't have many problems with your clocking.

I say that if you know how to oc, then go for it. Just watch the temps with something like Core Temp or CPUID's Hardware Monitor, or something popular, and then overclock until your heart's content.

If you're asking how to overclock, which I think you are but I'm not 100% sure of it yet, then you came to the right place.

According to your profile, you joined on Sunday, so welcome to OCN!

Yeh well id like to oc and dont really know how to do it i have read that overclocking guide that is on this website and sort of learning as i go but just found out (about 10 mins ago)that my ram was being under voltaged because of default mobo settings

Edit: Yes your spot on 650i and best mid range motherboard

you should think about an aftermarket cpu cooler as well, you specs show stock cooling.

Did you have to jump your RAM up to 2.1 or 2.2? That the first thing i did when i got my new board.

If you've got a basic grasp of the idea then you're pretty much set. Multi x FSB = Clockspeed.
Then every few increases in clockspeed run a stability test such as Orthos.. If it fails, then you should get some more volts in there.

Seems simple. Isn't always.

Edit - I was on the verge of buying that very board myself once.

check my specs, i get 3.0 no problems. anything over that, however, and my computer craps itself lol

don't quite know if it's my memory or the board. you should get 3 with no problems whatsoever, though

Ok well i seem to get the grasp of it now so ill give it a whirl. yes i had to jump the ram to 2.1v because thats when i found out that my ram is tested at 4-4-4-12 2T @ 2.1v by corsair/scan and even on here. Also one question my ATX 12v is shwoing 11.85v and hasnt moved an inch even when i upped the ram is this normal when im in bios it shows 11.89v

Plus any1 know how to turn the safety feature when it underclocks your cpu when not under load?
