New Core 2 Duo Acrylic Build

Thread Starter
Hey this past weekend i purchased the following:

- Intel Core 2 Duo E6750
- Asus Striker II 780I motherboard
- OCZ Reaper DDR2 800Mh Ram
- Scythe Katana 2 HSF

I was wondering what you guys think? And if anyone knows a good place where it explains what all of the settings in the BIOS mean? It is alot more complicated then the cheaper overclocking board i had earlier. Right now i am at 3200Mh 100% stable, but i know i can go much higher. My settings are as Memory is set at 970 but runs at ~960mh. All the voltages are on auto. My LDT is set to 3x(not sure if thats ok maybe too low?). Personally i think i need a better power supply because i am still using my old Ultra at 500watts.

I have also followed the following for eye-candy sake:

Logysis Acrylic UV Case .................................................P art Number: CS888-Clear

Antec TRI-COOL 80MM 3 Speed Case Fan (3 of them)...............Part Number: TRICOOL80MMBLUELED

What do you guys think?

I am also debating on getting a modular power supply. Any suggestions? I was personally looking at the Antec NEOPOWER 650W.

Everything else looks good though. I'm not sure how the Striker 2's are working out, but from my understanding the old Striker's weren't very impressive. Be careful with your RAM voltage. That was a big problem with the old boards. You should be able to get your E6750 pretty high up there (see 3.8+ on decent cooling).

Fear the NeoPower. Its crap. If you want a decent modular power supply, go with a

Silverstone DA650

or even a

Corsair 620HX

The 620 is cheaper by about 30$. Both are excellent power supplies.

*Edit

Oh, you already have the power supply. *sigh* Oh hell, run with it.

Heh Antec sucks, I'm seriously done with them. I got 2 PSU's for my GF's new build, and popped out the trusty power supply tester (made by Antec lol) and they were both DEAD as a doornail from the factory, what a joke.
