Asus Commando LCD Poster

Thread Starter
Hi, I have an Asus Commando MB that has been a very good board for me, but when I OC the LCD Poster backlight will not turn off when the computer is shut down, only when it is on. Has anyone else encountered this problem and/or know of a possible fix?

Thanks for your help.

The LCD poster is built onto the motherboard right?

I know my bios has a few options for my lcd poster like disable or enable lcd poster, time, backlight and a few others I beleive.

I would check your bios.

Someone else also asked this question about a month ago. I'll see if I can find it.
Here it is, different Asus board though.

Yeah, I checked out that post earlier. They have a different MB and problem. My lcd posters backlight is only on when the computer is off. In the BIOS the only option I have regarding the lcd poster is 'enable/disable backlight', which only seems to take effect when the system is on.

I'm not sure it'll help, but call Asus and ask them. Their number is in the front of the manual. Sometimes they help and sometimes the don't.

I just got off the phone with Asus, and I'm not sure if its just the guy I got, but their service was absolutely terrible. Basically what they told me was "because your over clocking the cpu, there isn't anything we can do". When I asked why the cpu clock speed had anything to do with the lcd poster he said "I don't know, but we can't help you". I'm still confused as to why the back light stays on when the system is OC'ed, but it looks like my solutions going to be a piece of duct tape over the lcd poster.

ha RED do me a check and see if yoUR GETTING ERROR MESSAGES ...MY aSUS COMMANDO DID THE SAME THING WHEN I HAD A FEW BAD SETTINGS IN THE BOIS ... i was running the 965EE and just crashed bad a about a week ago . and now i getting ready to go to the Q9650 .. because of some of the confusion in the bois settings .. hopeing the Q9650 will be a little more friendly ..lol

i will let you know if i find out anything on your problem .. i like the commando MB .. its the bois ultity that sucks i just updated my system config .. i will let know how she runs with the new CPU ..i found one thing that was interesting about the commando .. watch how the cpu and MB match up .. that was my biggest problem with the 965 EE .. she will run it but beware updateing the bois after she is up and running .. she really did not like it much .. good luck with your commando ... once you get her back in line she can fly low ...

the other thing you may want to try is when you put the MB in look to make sure the LCD is in corrected .. i had mine hang up on the side of the case and push the LC out some .. worth checking ..
