First successful OC... so far

Thread Starter
Well I did it... My mobo makes it pretty easy thats for sure... Seems stable so far, ran a stability test for a few hours without error... 3.6ghz!!! I'm kind of curious how long I should run sayyyy Orthos? So I'm sure it's fine.. Also curious since i've gotten it this high already when will I actually have to start bumping up voltages and messing with ram? It seems like I got it to 3.6 wayyy too easily.

for it to be completely stable, most people would say run orthos or prime for 12 hours. i like to run prime for 24 hours just for peace of mind. you will have to start bumping up volts when its not stable.

So if this crashes... what is more likely... fsb too high or i just try like 0.1 v on the CPU... I've only ran orthos for 2 hours so far. Just been playing with it a bit. Not very comfortable with oc'ing yet.

Most people will say orthos is stable, blah blah blah. I go balls-out on all my overclocking, so I just define 'stable' as "I can game for an hour on it".

Yeah I'm posting it everywhere.. Ha ha. Trying to get as much input as possible... And yeah Drax thats the way I was thinking.. I play alot of counterstrike source with runs mostly off the cpu... I gamed for a solid 2 hours without a hiccup... I'll still run orthos overnight jsut for peace of mind. And then crank it higher! haha
