My system is forced to live in a deskhole, so I would guess that the more CFM the fan moves the better.
you have to be careful with the deskhole situation. The whole point of putting fans in your case is to move warm air out of your case while drawing cool air in. If you put your case in a confined area, it is essentially recycling the same air it exhausts, rendering your investment pointless. If you can find a way to put it on your desk, or next to it, you will see better results.

ps. I have s-flex fans, and I really like them. I have a total of 7 120mm fans in my case and all I hear is a slight low frequency sound of air movement. They are all rated around 50cfm and 20db. My ultimate suggestion is that since you have a 690, you have tons of fan options. I personally believe it isn't necessary to have high cfm fans if you have a lot of fans. Use the 690's available options and you can move a lot of air without sounding like you are browsing the net next to a 747.

Thank you. I was wondering where I could get the Deltas.

And that's exactly what I'm looking for in addition to the best case fans: The best place to shop for case fans! Not that I believe this could be the best place, but I don't want to rely on NewEgg.

Excellent point.

But wouldn't it help a great deal to have a bottom fan sucking air in from underneath the case, 2 lower front fans (blue LED's of course) sucking in air from the front, and then two top exhaust fans, and then the rear exhaust and side-panel exhaust instead of intake?

These are great for general use. I have a pair and would recommend them.

These also have great ratings if you must have blue.

Both of these have high CFMs if that's what you're after.

Hi there 5 Cheese.

I'd advise against the Suggested Panaflo's I bought two for my ThermalRight Ultra Xtreme, and it was so loud, I had to: take one off, and turn the other one down to 1500 rpm, half of it's rated speed.

I'm going be getting two more fans to replace them, and I know they'll be 100% what I need. You'll want: low dBa and relatively high cfm.

That link I put up there for you is for the fans I'm getting. They're SilenX 120x38mm fans and they push 90cfm at 18 dBa. That's a really silent fan. Hope that works.

And for case fans, I would've thought you'd be looking for 120x25mm fans...

Crazypc.com also has those fans in stock as well.. they even have a 120x25mm version 18 dBa at 1400 rpm. You should check out there section of coloured LED fans.

I'd have to say yate loons. They come in 3 speed varieties (low, med, high models) and some retailers like Petras Tech Shop sells Blue Led versions of each model. Also their CFM and Noise ratings are dead on unlike SilenX.

I saw those. Only reason why I didn't link them was for the conflicting reviews. I'd be willing to try one just to see if its actually under 20dba at that high of cfm.

Yeah, I suppose I am looking for the 25mm depth fans since it sounds like that's a typical case fan (I'm looking to replace the fans of the CM690 of equal size, but obviously of much better performance!)

I do have a question now: how much can we believe that those CFM specs are accurate? Is there a margin error?

only one way to know. Speedfan. Get the fans, don't like em, return em lol
