Amazing! Very impressive moding.

I do hope it continues to go well and hope it will work well too. By the look of things, I think it'd all work out perfectly well. Awesome job!

I'll have to get some finished pics of it from Mike, i'm sure he'll post some up anyway though!

Water on southbridge? Pretty extreme.

The powdercoating on the case internals kick arse.

You have inspired me mate. I found an auto shop here that is willing to powder coat the interior of my cosmos. Mind you I have to dissasemble it and be able to reconnect it with a rivet gun.

how many rivets roughly were necessary to be removed to get it to paint ready?

Also what did you do with the foam piece that supports the power supply?

@ Max - Yeh kinda wish we hadn't bothered with the southbridge, i'm gonna try avoid doing it in future, just gonna use Enzotech heatsinks instead.

@ Robilar - I only removed about 10 rivets I think, it went back together easy enough once I had found some countersunk ones.
For the foam piece I just removed it, didn't bother getting it coated, once the PSU goes in the silver won't be visable and it would of been pointless if I had removed the rubber off it.

Sorry for so many questions but your mod got me excited.

Is any of the plastic casing attached with rivets? I looked at the bare pics and it looks like you only took off the side support bar and the base mount plate for the power supply.

I would really appreciate knowing where the 10 rivets came from.

I assume you took the side support bar off as you didn't want paint inside the spring mechanism.

thanks again

Nope, all of the plastic frame is just held of with screws and little tabs.

All I did was remove the rivets that hold the 2 support bars on becuase the powder coat would clog it up if I didn't.
