q6600 and abit ip35 pro???

Thread Starter
so who here has a q6600 and ip35 pro? im wondering why because i want to overclock it, and it seems like before when i tried, it did everything automatically
like i had to only put in those 3 numbers for the fsb, and it figured out the multiplier and voltage on it's own. am i right? or not...

help would be appreciated.

edit: oh... and i am at stock clocks ATM which is 2.4... i just didnt change my signature thing..
uh oh i should change it i might get flamed for having not real specs

I have both of those parts.

It doesn't do it automatically, nor would you want it to, every mobo and processor is a bit different.

I have mine running at 3.6 with 1.53 volts in bios I think (with Vdroop it's 1.48)
The MCH voltage also has to be upped a fair amount, I think mine is at 1.45 or something.
Also bring up the CPU VTT voltage.

Overall though, it's been a good experience overclocking my Q6600 on this board.

For one try and do the bolt mod on the boards stock cooling to ensure that everything is touching proprerly. MOD

Also try and get it flashed to one of the later bios's probably the latest official one would work very well for you.

With a quad you may wanna get a 40mm fan pointed at your PWM's as they can get pretty toasty.

If you are on stock then I would just see what you can get out of stock voltage. Leave that on stock or the lowest setting which will probably be about 1.25vcore.

Set the others as follows
VMCH abotu 1.44v
cpu vtt (set after vmch) about 1.15v or so.
ich and icho 1.09v and 1.65v should do the trick
gtl ref% leave those at what they are at probably 67% and 67%

You ram voltage dont take above 2.2v, you should leave those around 2.1 to 2.15 for the ballistics. This board overvolts the ram a little bit so be careful.

One other thing with the vdroop from the quad its a little large so be prepared. With a voltmod you can get it down to none or .02v at max. I think they fixed alot of the vdroop with the latest bios that is out.
