From ASUS M2N-E to Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4, You Decide...

Thread Starter
Here is a report of my computer from Everest Utlimate Edition, I changed my motherboard from an ASUS M2N-E to a GIGABYTE GA-M57SLI-S4 and I changed to Corsair XMS2 PC6400 (800mhz) from PC5300 (667mhz) Plus I am overclocked 5% at 2.94GHZ on an AMD X2 (Windsor) 5400 (2.8GHZ). Which as soon as I replaced motherboards, I booted straight into bios, and overclocked without changing ANYTHING! But look at my temps?! I was running straight 2.8GHZ, 667mhz ram (i know it doesn't matter, but it was a change) and my temps were like 118F on the CPU and 123F on the GPU, here they are now:

Temperatures:
CPU 25 °C (77 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #1 40 °C (104 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #2 36 °C (97 °F)
GPU 45 °C (113 °F)

CPU Speed:
CPU Clock 2945.0 MHz (original: 2800 MHz, overclock: 5%)
CPU Multiplier 14.0x
CPU FSB 210.4 MHz (original: 200 MHz, overclock: 5%)
HyperTransport Clock 1051.8 MHz
Memory Bus 420.7 MHz
DRAM:FSB Ratio CPU/7

CPU Properties:
CPU Type DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2
CPU Alias Windsor-512
CPU Stepping JH-F3
Engineering Sample No
CPUID CPU Name AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5400+
CPUID Revision 00040F33h

Graphics Processor Properties:
Video Adapter XFX GeForce 7300 GT
GPU Code Name G73 (PCI Express 1.0 x16 10DE / 0393, Rev A1)
GPU Clock 501 MHz (original: 368 MHz, overclock: 36%)
Memory Clock 360 MHz (original: 274 MHz, overclock: 31%)

Voltage Values:
CPU Core 1.38 V
+3.3 V 3.34 V
+12 V 12.29 V
+5 V Standby 5.00 V
VBAT Battery 3.09 V
DIMM 1.94 V

With these nice Air Temps, I could overclock more? Any suggestions, where to begin and can I follow the AM2 Overclockers Guide on this page?

Thank You!

Cquinndesign, are those temperatures above on idle or load? Is your current overclock Orthos stable? You may run into stability issues with your memory overclocked. If that is the case try running your Corsair memory at DDR2 667(for testing purposes).

The AM2 overclocking guide is an excellent source of information. I do suggest reading over it: http://www.overclock.net/amd-general...ocket-am2.html.

Good luck
