New mobo question

PC CHIPS M848A (V5.0) 462(A) SiS 746FX ATX AMD

I just purchased this mobo and noticed that it does not have a 4pin cpu power input on it. The board i replaced was the one in my profile which had a 4pin. I have re-read the specs and i do not see any reference to this. I still have not fired it up due to the fact that i am waiting on a video card. Does the cpu get its power from the 20pin on this board or am i missing something?

yep.....if there's no 4 pin cpu socket it will be fed through the 20 pin header

though i have not seen any new board without one...? 4 or 8 pin seems to be the standard now
never heard of that board ... is it new..?

here ya go......

This motherboard has no 4-pin ""Pentium 4"" power connector, so it draws all the power through the 20-pin ATX connector. So make sure you have a GOOD QUALITY name brand power supply. Choose one that's rated at 300 watts or more.

This is interesting though. Most of th S462 boards that I've thrown away or sold all had a 4-pin power connector...this is the first S462 board that I have seen without a 4-pin.

Good luck Renobgib1
