Yes, since you're changing chipsets. If you moved from an older Intel chipset to ICH9R, you probably could have just tranferred the RAID array. However, you go from nVidia to Intel, and thus you'll have to start from scratch.

The issue here is that the NEW board he'll be buying has the ICH9R, while his old board is nVidia.
