580W and an 8 pin connector are recommended(specifications, scroll down), the safer side would be no, but im not really sure

I'm pretty sure (I could be wrong tho) that your psu is an Acbel model, so it's a decent brand. Even though the 9 series consumes less power than the 8 series, I would be hesitant about trying to run a gx2. From what I could find, the GX2 recommends a minimum of 28 amps and your psu can supply 34 amps so you would be ok there. But you do have a massively OCed quad core that can suck a lot of power by itself. It would likely run, but you might seriously reduce the lifespan of that psu.

**edit**
Well eVGA's site said it needed only 28A but I've found many other manufacturers saying it needed 40A with a QX6700. So now I'm very hesitant of trying it. I would seriously advise against it.

That's still cutting it close with the Liberty. The Liberty was supposed to be a good psu but there are a lot of reports of them dying. Also, it only supplies 36A (432W) on the 12V lines. A GX2 will suck about 200w at load, maybe a little more when OCed, and about the same for a quad OCed. CPUs and GPUs draw most of their power from the 12V line and 36A is still a little low. So it would probably run, but it's not the best idea to run a psu at it's maximum rated load for long periods of time, especially one with a reputation for going boom.

No one really knows. It'll probably be a month until we get some solid details about the new cards coming this summer.
