Depends on the type of games you like to play. The storyline is nothing amazing but it is a little different and the game play style is 3rd person shooter (which was a welcome change for me but if you are an FPS only kind of person, maybe not).
Where this game excels though is the fact that the graphics look aesthetically pleasing (don't look for Crysis type technical beauty here) in that everything looks raw and powerful. The lighting is incredible and the scenes just look epic. One thing I liked about this game is that there is no nonsense stealth crap. You're a guy with massive guns (in both senses) and you want to kick some ass. Some people might not like this.
The game is very varied as well. You won't get bored at all because there's so much to do and it's all different. It's linear but you may be crawling through abandoned houses and then be underground and then be on a runaway train. It's very fast paced.
Sorry for the wall of text but yes. This game isn't made for the storyline or to be technically perfect (in the case of the weapons they are outrageous) but it's just brutal, honest and fun
Hope that answered your question.
Edit: Also just wanted to add that the game isn't the best PC port. In that, it does crash rarely and it takes an absolute age to install. Other than that it's well optimized. I could max it out with DX10 and 8xAA and I was getting 40 or so fps.Edited by NrGx - 6/12/08 at 8:08pm
