The latest drivers released by AMD, the Catalyst 8.4s features support for a truckload of Radeon-branded cards, but one especially stands out - the Radeon HD 3850 X2.

"ATI Radeon HD 3850 X2" = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\\VEN_1002&DEV_9513

Still not officially introduced by AMD, the new dual-GPU card has been announced by Asus and it is the 'answer' for Nvidia's GeForce 9800 GTX as it will have a similar price tag. Equipped with 1GB of GDDR3 memory set to 1658 MHz, the HD 3850 X2 has two RV670 chips clocked at 668 MHz and all the perks of the 3800 series.

Yeah, it's funny how they can bash on a card that hasn't even been released yet. If he could tell the future he would've won the lottery already.

If the cores are anything like the 3850 cores they are just 3870 cores with reduced voltage. Generally all those took was a bios flash and you had 3870 cores with the same clockability. Be interesting to see if crossflashing these with a 3870x2 bios.
