From the article that some people apparently failed to read:
Quote:
Will Windows XP really no longer be on sale after June 30? Sorry for the double negative, but no. All this means is that Microsoft will stop selling the OS. Finding a computer with XP preinstalled will likely be very difficult, as well. However, you'll still be able to find copies for the foreseeable future, and likely the unforeseeable one, too. See for yourself: You can find copies of just about any Microsoft product, including ancient versions of Windows and even MS-DOS, by simply searching online. But hang on to your current copy of Windows XP. You may need it down the road if you don't want to move to Vista.
Will I be forced to upgrade to Vista soon? No. But it will get harder and harder not to, especially since new software and peripherals are likely to stop working with XP. That could take years.
Will my XP machine stop working in June? No, but Microsoft will stop releasing non-security software updates to the masses on April 14, 2009.
In other words, support will make it until April 14, 2009. After that, security updates will continue until 2014.

Funny, Office Depot has XP (all flavors) in stock locally and online (not just OEM). Proof

Vista is not equal to ME. Most people with issues are:

A: Using crap hardware
B: Using crap software
C: Don't know what they are doing

I like the people who complain that Vista Ultimate gives them trouble, and they are running but a mere 1 or 2 GB of RAM or a Celeron CPU.... lol...

Everyone seems to forget all the troubles with XP during its first two years... incompatible software, hardware, crashes, etc....

Maybe it's just where I live then. None available here, anywhere. I have pissy customers every day *****ing about how they want their XP and I have to tell em "Sorry, online only and only through certain places." And I got the avvy from a friend, he sent it to me in an e-mail like a year ago. Several of my friend's have told me it's common as hell and pretty old.

Most people that hate vista are exactly the same people that drive early 90's vehicles and say it's a perfectly good car, and although that 93 4 banger camry looks like crap.. it still gets the job done for cheaper..

However.. i always want to achieve more, and am not simply happy just settling with what works......

i did not marry my first, second, or even third girlfriend...
i dont think my old 93 prelude sucked.. but it's definatly not as nice as my new rsx type s.
And i definitely do not think my old E6750 is better than my Q6600.

It's called progression.... and it is good... even if it CONFUSES you.
