Help choosing a Wirless router

Thread Starter
Hello, I recently purchased a PS3, but I also have a laptop that can use a wireless internet signal. Well I am in the market for a wireless router and I am looking for suggestions. So far I found the "Linksys WRT150N Wireless-N Home Router" which seems it will do fine. DD-WRT works on it apparently, but I would like to hear from the network pros. I don't want to spend over $100 please. Even a G router is fine, I am not picky. Thank you.

It really depends on the distance you want it to reach. I have all my stuff in one room, so I purchased a cheap 40 dollar belkin router, and I get the same quality as a much more expensive router because I didn't need the range.

Try one of these if youre going for one room/floor range. (the second one down is the one I own, works great)

Im not an expert, thats just my 2cents

Netgear DG834G Adsl2+ Modem router. can use as a stand-alone router, or as both.

If the signals too weak only have to bolt on an aftermarket Antenna (like i have)

I have a Linksys WRT150N . I have always used Linksys. They are good , reliable products. The software that they provide- Linksys Easy Link Advisor is awesome. My 6 year old could set up a network using that software. Price was right (89.99) at Wally Mart. I have two lappys using the wireless signal and I have two hardwired networked PC's hooked into the router's switch. Awesome equipment. One of my wireless has a N card and the other a g card. Works fine- no worries. Wouldn't buy any other brand........... I had a wired older Linksys router that I had for over 3 years and I'll prolly sell it on CL. It gave me absolutely no problems at all...
