to my knowledge ambient doesn't make a huge difference when on load. Have you tried reseating it.

to my experience it sure does. last year i had it in a place where it was at 35c ambient temps where reaching 72 (i didnt have the tuniq and it was overclocked only to 2.1 on stock volts) and same config on a 24 ambient that same day (went downstairs) and i was getting 64...

ive just resat it a couple of days ago with some tx-1...

your 27 C ambient is definitely an issue. If you can't cool down the ambient temps, definitely consider lowering your OC and vcore to a cooler level. As someone suggested see how far you can push 1.35.

I also see you have a silent edition video card, is that passive, ie no fan? cause that thing is also adding heat to your box. I would also suggest a new case with better airflow such as the coolermaster CM690 I have, cheap mid-tower with great cable management and the option to install 7 120mm fans.

It's not only the CPU being stresses. Your board/northbridge is probably burning up inside.

Ok I mean the bios setting, so try setting it to 1.35v in the bios.

About the temps, your ambient is relativly high and you might have a certain "stepping" E6300 which get's hot faster then others. If you still have the box your E6300 came in you should check for the FPO number (it's on a sticker). Mine is an L631A for example.

If you open CoreTemp it should tell you if you have L2 or B2 stepping.

its a B2 stepping.
ok i set the vcore at 1.3250 on bios and so far im at 465x7 (3255mhz) and speedfan reports 1.26 on idle and 1.23 on load... temps are 46c idle and 58 on load. is that still too high?

k, B2 I've heard is the best revision for oc'ing. Not sure about the temps tho.

If those temps are with Orthos or Prime, then you should be fine, as long as your normal use temps are lower, maybe 55 or lower would be comforting.

lol, wish I could use that little voltage...mine was 1.35 stock. I need 1.44 just to get 3.2 very stable, but I don't think it's completely stable even with that.

well i just finished 3 hours of occt so im comfortable its stable. ill leave orthos running overnight. and yes load temps are with orthos small ffts test, normal folding temps are around 53 or 54. im just shocked at how some people using way higher voltages than i am and they have a 30 something idle and 40 something load temps...
