TAspring: FREE, gorgeous RTS - Page 4

Kind of coincidental that my brand new (work) system died while playing this game. (OK only a week old)

Dell Optiplex 755 with ATI HD2600XT.

Downloaded and installed the game, fired it up and left the options at default. Started a TA game and was playing for about 3 minutes when I started getting artifacts. Quit the game and still had the graphics corruption. Logged out and back in, still there. Rebooted and the system will not boot. Power light comes on, as well as the network light, but that is where is sits.

Gears of War was playing fine on this system, BF2 worked fine and so did S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Time to call Dell...

From what I saw of the game it looks interesting. Maybe I will try it on my Dual xeon workstation... (how many systems CAN I fry?)

EDIT: The video card is dead...

That sucks that your comp died! Sorry to hear it.

I'm glad people like this game. Just for the record, it works in Wine 0.9.57 and probably the newer versions (up to 0.9.60 as of this post), if anyone wants to play the free game on the free OS.

Why use wine since there is a native Linux version?

Yeah sucks about the computer. Now I have to use this slow OLD Dell. I almost scream waiting for pages to load. Plus the new system has a 22" widescreen!
The kicker is, the new system is an evaluation unit (never have to send it back though).

I enjoy seeing the latest games patches being added to the news section. They are news. A lot of people like myself don't go around checking for updates everyday. In fact I never check on updates. I just come here.

TA spring is so old...

BUT IT OWNS. I am a huge TA fanboy. I have left RTS for a while though, maybe I should return?

I'm saying why the hell do people insist on posting this crap? Are you a mod in training if not then leave it alone. Let the mods take care of reposts and post in the wrong section.
Correct, this is not "news" like a current event, or things of such, but this sure is news to me. I never heard of this game and like the guy said, most people never hear about open source games so I am glad it was posted. Frankly I don't even care where it was post and neither should anyone else that is not a mod.

Here is a good example of what should have been done.

You click the link and see that in your opinion this is not news. So you "should have just clicked the back button, or said something "Cool maybe I'll give it a try."

I say cool and I will try it cause I like RTS. Thanks for post +REP.
