Liability, prove to me about the markup fees everyone apparently pays for Macs. I'd like to see evidence of this.

The iMac there uses a 2.4Ghz processor, one that is nearly a gigahertz faster than the T5250. That might be why the benchmarks are so different.

Did you even read the cost comparison in my post? The Gateway One is the SAME PRICE. Please elaborate with actual numbers where people are paying this "huge markup fees".

yes i know but i had to. i wasnt serious about it though because i really do not understand why the new macs would have heat issues because they all use 45nm processors now so they should run cooler unless apple changed their cooling which wouldnt make sense. mine runs HOT but i havent thought that there was a problem or anything with it.

Just telling you what I see. It really stinks to tell people when they come in with a MAC to call MACINTOSH because they are damn near the only ones who will work on it.

The look of delight/ticked on their faces is priceless when I whip out a PC/Notebook and tell them most of the crap they had seen on TV to sway them was a bunch of BS

MAC OSX 10.5 , Great OS for people that don't know anything about computers and want something simple. Don't care about interface. PC Magazine did a test with 1500 tech testers, and they said,, the most stable, fastest secure and robust and compatibility.

They were talking about XP ,,,, then Vista, then OSX ,,, as top OSes.

Plus what you gonna do on a mac, but use their stupid hoggy software no apps,, no games,,, lol ,,,,, and also its music production software SUX big time Logic 7 ,, joke interface,, no right click ,, very dumb german interface, Now go look @ cakewalk interface and how friendly it is. MAC is not friendly @ all!!! Just my thought and the thoughts of 1500 tech testers.

XP pownz,,,us all!!!! the last great OS, Now in 2010 the new Windows 7 comes out, then what everyone with vista jumps to that,,, I dont think so,, more problems, we dont need. Theres a reaason why its coming out in 2010 , cuz they know they screwed up Vista , to be like the WindowsME of the new century LOL , if I want juicy desktop interface,, Ill go launch a game like UT3 or Gears or FEAR combat ,,, thats juicy enough. Its about simplicity and they broke that... Also copying files would take 5 second delay for menu to pop up,, but with SP1 now it takes 3 seconds.. LOL ,, joke ,,,, whoever is smart uses XP windows 2003 tech ,,, thx

Aside from several stupid comments about "no right click" (Macs have right click) and "stupid hoggy software" (like XP and Vista doesn't), what exactly did your rant have to do with this article? It seems like you just read the or "Mac" in the title and decided to come and spew out your irrelevant opinions, not that I don't respect your opinions, they're just not relevant.

Who cares about notebook benchmarks? Who cares about prebuilts?

Find a Mac, price it, build a custom pc for the same price, then compare all you want. This article is more for the average consumer who wants to know which computer to buy, not which cpu, mobo, psu, etc.

He's wrong. He might be able to build a pc similar to a mac pro but you need specific parts. Getting parts from Newegg wouldn't get you a mac. Newegg doesn't carry Logic Board(Probably Foxconn), Apple PSU, Apple Case or memory riser. I would like to see him try to install OSX on non-specific apple hardware without hacks. It would probably cause too much trouble and effort. Personally I really like the look of most Apple products, clean & simple.

Anyways, this is disgusting. People have preference and buy a computer for the features it has. Thus people buy macs because it has what they want, like the OS or software.

And stop saying it is overpriced.

So its not at all overpriced for the person who purchases it, since it is not priced to high for them. So stop pushing your opinions like facts.

So a mac benches higher than some OEM brand, so what. This happens every time a mac post is on OCN. You guys are being ignorant elitists and call anyone who defends apple a fanboy.

A mac is barely that much more then a good OEM brand and some users feel its worth paying a little more as it comes with an OS they like and good software.

So please, stop bashing Apple, if you don't like them fine, but spewing stereotypes, insults and bashing Apple isn't going to make a difference. Seriously, in no way is Apple making you purchase a mac, so what do you care. Does it seriously bother you that there is a different OS and computer out there.

In no way does Apple affect you so theres no need to bash them.
