Now MGS4 could be a PC platform game...BUT such Pc's would need to come equipped with a Blu-ray drive.
That is a good point, but nowadays with direct downloads such as Steam and etc people no longer have to depend only on physical mediums for data transfer.

Well even that can only help so much.

You would have to consider the coding and porting to another platform first. Plus I dont think anyone would appreciate downloading 50GB for a game lol.

I honestly think that in time MGS4 will be released onto the 360.

To be completely honest, compressing MGS4 down to a reasonable size for online distribution would not make it look or sound noticeably worse. Much like how a hi res image can take up several megabytes as a bitmap, and compressing it into a high-quality JPEG will cause no real noticeable loss in quality, but the file will only take up a few hundred kilobytes.

Yes there is that. As for Video quality or texture quality im not sure what effect compression will have on it. maybe not much, I just do not know as I have never seen a comparison so I cannot comment on that.

As for MGS4 being ported to 360...We will have to see. Im no expert but I cannot see it being an easy task. I think you would have to find a bunch of people willing to spend a fair amount of time getting it ported.

Remember that we are not only talking about hardware differences but also having to port it to Dual Layer DVD or HD-DVD ...I doubt HD-DVD as its kind of dying out.

Also The Cell CPU in the PS3 is hard to code for ...so coding the game to then use a tri core CPU might be challenging....like I said im no expert.
